Laguna Harbor - Taylor Outfall - to Lake Charles

We left Laguna Harbor yesterday and made it to Taylor Outfall by early afternoon. The anchorage was calm and we were able to test out our anchors.  The CQR came with the boat and we tried to set it 4 times and gave up!  It is suppose to be a great anchor, we will just have to figure it out.  We used our rescue line all four times and we think we may have it figured out how to use one of those darn things!

Since we could not get the CQR to set, we let out our new FX37 Fortress and she set the first time!  We of course could not sleep!  We never do at an anchorage... guess we will learn since this trip there will be anchorages everywhere.

We saw our first creature on the trip... it was a coyote along the banks... He looked hungry!

      The sunset was beautiful.

But the supermoon was spectacular again.  I did not get to take any pictures of it last night because I did not want to go out and let mosquitos in... but this morning when we got up we saw the most incredible moon set.

The picture does not show it justice.... but here it is....

Here are a couple of pictures of the other boats... Last Trade and La Vie Dansante.

We left the anchorage around 8:00 and headed to Lake Charles. We stopped by Bow Tie Marina to fill up and pump out.... then our friends on More Good Timin' got stuck on a cypress knee stump that was hidden under the water. So, we had our first rescue opportunity in M/V Cambria... Camile did a splendid job of tossing me a line, we tied it up and pulled her off. I sure hope their boat is ok... They will have it looked at in Lake Charles.

A few Tankers as usual... Al's motto... "We're plastic, You're steel, YOU WIN"

We arrived at the City Marina... tied up.... went to dinner at Luna... and CRASHED!
