1/12/2015 - 1/13/2015 Day Trip to Destin and other Pensacola outings.

Curtis and Diane had their truck so we decided to take a day trip to Destin...  When we got up the fog was so thick we could not see the end of the pier.  The sky never cleared up much but we had a great day anyway.  Curtis and Diane had never been there and Susan and Jerry wanted to check out alternatives to anchoring out in Destin Harbor.  We had heard that there were three sunken boats that had burned to the water and we were not sure that's where we wanted to be.

After a quick What-A-Burger senior breakfast we headed out... first stop was Ft. Walton Beach Yacht Club... then to Shalimar... then we drove over to Niceville to check out the Bluewater Bay Marina.
We decided that it would be a good alternative...

We then went on to Destin and had lunch at The Crab Trap on the beach.  The She-Crab soup was the best  I have ever had!  Curtis and Diane went for a geocache out on the beach and we watched and waited on the back deck. It was Susan't birthday so we treated!

We then headed over to Destin Harbor to check it out.  Although most everything was closed we enjoyed walking around the area.  We checked out the anchorage and decided it would be a great place to come anchor out... in nice warm weather.

Silly group!  Where's Diane!

Al made a pit stop at the local fire hydrant!  LOL

We got back and  I made cookies for Ron... we ate a few ourselves!
Then chilled out.. Lexi and Diane are hanging.

On Tuesday we biked over to The Palace Cafe at Seville Quarter for breakfast.   Had made some cookies for Ron, the Harbor Master last night so we took them to him after we got the boat cleaned up and took it over to get a pump-out.  We ran some errands... we went to Home Depot and made a Walmart provisioning run.

We ate a late lunch at a great little local bar and grill.

After a stop at Joe Patti for shrimp and fish we loaded the bikes back on the boat and made preparations to leave in the morning.
